Playground Project Phases

The Town of Boulder Junction has approved a plan at a cost of no more that $275,000 to expand the existing playground, replace aging equipment, and include new sections for all ages and abilities, including adults.

The Town of Boulder Junction has committed $50,000 toward the project and all remaining funds will be raised through private donations, business & corporate support and grants.

The new inclusive community playground area, located in the Boulder Junction Sports and Recreation area, will by built in three phases.

Phase 1: 2–5 Year Old Playground Area

Phase 2: 5–12 Year Old Playground Area to include a new area with several pieces of inclusive equipment accessible to all

Phase 3: 14+/Adult Playground Area

Over a year ago, from a community-wide survey regarding the need for a new or refurbished playground in Boulder Junction, a group of volunteers came forward to support and help with the project.
The Design and Planning Committee was created from these volunteers. The committee members have spent months researching, meeting with potential vendors and diligently planning for the playground plan and design you see today.
As a result, Gerber Leisure based in Blue Mound, WI, was selected as our playground vendor. Gerber Leisure specializes in playground equipment for all ages and abilities through equipment manufacturer Landscape Structures Inc. The project fundraising has a planned completion of Fall 2022.
